Modern Chandelier Lighting

If you are tired of the old, traditional style of chandelier lights, there are some much more modern options that are currently available.  Designers like Minka Lavery and Robert Abbey are putting a new and fresh spin on the traditional chandelier style.  There are also hundreds more chandelier designers that are constantly coming up with new ideas, and taking the idea of a chandelier in many new directions. In this post I want to share with you some very modern chandelier styles that are currently popular so that you can get an idea of what is out there.

Obviously, what is modern while I’m writing this won’t be that modern in a few years, so if you happen to be reading this in the future (hello future!) don’t laugh at me if these chandeliers look dated!

Modern Chandelier Styles

This black and chrome modern chandelier from Murano is a beautiful example of what is currently available.  This style wouldn’t work in every home, but for those that it would, it would be absolutely stunning. Chandeliers in this style are fairly expensive, but once you start to get a feel for what the modern design is, you can start to find some that are closer to your price range.

The curvature of the metal arms produces a very organic and natural feel, which is very pronounced because of this chandelier’s large size.

If you are looking for something that is modern and will make a huge impact in your home, this is the style of chandelier that you need to get!

Here is another fantastic modern chandelier from Murano. They have some of the most forward thinking designs on the market, and this is another example of that.

This chandelier is crafted from spun glass that will send beautiful light all around the room that you install it in.

Yes, this is a huge light fixture, and probably won’t work well in 99% of the homes on the planet, but it helps to see the far end of modern design so that you can back it up just far enough that it makes sense for your home.

I absolutely love the way that this looks like an octopus in action!

If you feel that old and traditional chandeliers conjure up feelings of stuffy tea parties and the opera, it may be time to add one of these works of art into your home. Modern chandelier lighting is only modern for a short period of time, but ten years from now a design like these is going to stand out much better than a bunch of crystals hanging from the ceiling would!
