Shopping for chandelier lights can be a tedious job.  There are a lot of different ways to do it, and choosing the wrong one can mean that you spend way too much money.  Savings of only 10% can be a major chunk of change when shopping for a big item like a chandelier, so you want to make sure that you get it right the first time!  We aren’t affiliated with any stores, so I can’t recommend a particular retailer, but I will show you how to find the perfect one so that you get the chandelier you want at the best price.

I always recommend that you start your search online.  Online retailers tend to have prices as much as 25% lower than what you are going to find at your lighting store locally.  This sounds great on the surface, but unless you work to find free shipping on your order, you are going to end up spending even more once you pay for shipping and insurance.  It might actually take longer to shop online since you have to find the chandelier that you want, in the size you want, at a retailer that won’t charge you to get it to you, but the extra work is going to save you a pretty big chunk of cash.

If you do want to shop locally I recommend that you exhaust all options in your area before making a purchase.  That also includes antique and vintage stores.  When it comes to crystal chandeliers, their design hasn’t changed much over the last 50 or so years, so if you can find one that is in good shape used you can save yourself a lot of money.  You can also make up a story about it belonging to someone famous!  Shopping for chandeliers new locally can be tough.  Most lighting stores don’t carry a very large selection, so you will have to travel all over the place to see everything your area has to offer.

The most important thing is that you don’t get discouraged through this process.  Shopping for chandelier light fixtures isn’t an easy job, but when you are thorough you are going to find the best deal on the exact chandelier that you want for your home.
